We Hope She Likes Orange Sherbet!

I like rainbow myself. Baseboard and windows still need to be done. We're going with chocolate/dark brown furniture and some form of white drapery.

We're Not In New Jersey Anymore...

Hi all, we went on a much needed getaway this past week. We packed our bags, threw the beach chairs in the back of the Forester, and took a five hour ride to Harwich Port in Cape Cod. We stayed at the beautiful Dunscroft By-The-Sea. A very quaint and pleasant bed and breakfast. We had a very restful and fun time.

Now our title plays on the well-known quote from that little girl and her dog because TORNADOS, yes tornados, were all over the news when we arrived. Fantastic! Day one had a good amount of rain and wind, as you can see from Jen's best impression of flying, but we did our best to look on the bright side of things until, that is, we were caught in a massive downpour while looking for coffee and tea. At that point we both looked at each other and said "this sucks". Even then we decided that this was a small bump in the road and it would not ruin our little vacation and it didn't. That night we had a delicious dinner at The Port and got the best banana Ice cream, I've ever had, with marshmallow and fresh whip cream at Sundae School. Sundae School is pretty well known there and we went every night. Every night I got banana ice-cream with some combination of marshmallow, whip cream, and/or hot fudge topping. Never all toppings at once though. It would have been too much. Jen's ice cream of choice? Oreo and I think that was the real reason she didn't want to leave.

After dessert we decided to relax in our room and enjoy the evening. We were not getting good news from the weather channel and it wasn't a happy site looking out the window. We said our last "maybe we'll get lucky" for the night and hit the hay. Someone must have heard that because the rest of our time there was beautiful. The news insisted on bad weather and yet we got beautiful days. If anything, the rain kicked in well after we would be in for the night and would stop just in time for morning. We really did get lucky. We spent a few days on the beach, took numerous strolls, and even went to see the Cape Cod Potato Chip factory. Not what it's cracked up to be let me tell you. As a matter of fact we spent an hour in traffic for a 10 minute tour, haha. The best part? After we left we decided not to go back the way we came, got a little lost, and then found our way onto the most beautiful backroads in the area. Amazing homes, galleries every 50', a windmill, it was great and the best part of that trip out to the potato chip place.

That was our trip. It was such a relaxing adventure and we didn't want to leave. May be a perfect place for a beach home. =D

Baby's Room: The Beginning

So, right now it's an office. It's grey with a glass desk, a big books shelf, a bike pump (I'm trying to fix it), and computer stuff. All of that will be going upstairs and our master bedroom will now be a guest room and office combo. There is a lot of room up there so everything will fit fine. It's pretty funny how drastic this room will change. What once was a somewhat functional and clean room to do work-related stuff is going to turn into a colorful, diaper-filled little girl's room with stuffed friends by the names of Polar the Bear and Super Duck. Our top color choices (in no particular order) are: Daffodil, Honey Blush, Papaya, Sole and Pizazz Peach. Whatever primary color we pick, the trim will either be Creamy or Dover White in case you were curious :). We're really excited to be starting this because it feels like it's really one step closer to having our little girl here.

Polkadots and Sonograms

I think a better title for this post would be "The Bump is Here to Stay." After weeks of alternating between looking pregnant and then looking like I could just do some sit-ups and all would be back to my original size, our little girl has settled in for the long haul. I'm officially looking preggers - no denying it. And I bought some maternity tops (like this one) that just reinforce that fact. I'd just like to say that I think that some maternity clothes make you look MORE pregnant than you actually are - I think that's why I always grab my stomach in these pics so I can tell just how the bump looks!

Frank has also uploaded our most recent sonogram pic to share with everyone. She looks healthy and is developing well.

In other news, we think she's going to be a soccer player - this girl definitely has the kicking thing down!

Hope you all are well. More to share soon...
